April 2014 Subscription Box Reviews

I am super late on my April Subscription Box reviews, but this was really the earliest I could get them up. I am currently subscribed to 3 subscription box services: Birchbox, Ipsy, and Wantable Intimates. I have been subscribed to Birchbox since December 2013, Ipsy since January 2014, and Wantable’s Intimates Box since February 2014.

This month was a great month for me! It seems like all my subscriptions really brought their ‘A’ game.

Birchbox gets a 5/5 from me this month. I’m really pleased with everything they sent me, I’m really hoping that next month is just as great.

Birchbox seems to think I need a lot of moisturizers. They sent me two this month, and I received one last month as well. I really really can’t use that many different moisturizers without absolutely destroying my skin (I would be able to tell which products were hindering/helping at the rate I’m going). However, I do feel like this was a better month for me than February. I’ve giving Birchbox a 4/6 this month.

Peter Pilotto for Target Review

I’ve always loved the designer collaborations Target has done in the past (the notable exception being Jason Wu for Target because of the quality), so I looked forward to the release of Peter Pilotto for Target this Sunday. If you’re interested in viewing the look book, you can view it here.

Since it snowed Saturday night (and I live in rather rural area) the racks of Peter Pilotto for Target were completely untouched. So I snagged every item (mostly dresses, skirts and few shirts) and went to the dressing room. Unfortunately, I did not see any of the swimwear so I’ll have to go back and take another look.

For reference: I am 5’1″, approximately 120 lbs, and have an hourglass shape although I tend to carry a little more weight in my stomach/hips.

Peter Pilotto for Target dress in Green Floral

I was pleasantly surprised by this dress – good quality fabric, lined (!!!), invisible zipper (!!!), and overall not terrible on my body – although I don’t prefer a dropwaist shape ever. The fit was decent as well. Definitely one of the pieces I liked more from this collection. I tried on a size small.
